Could you describe what your role at Tapkey entails?

As a software developer, my primary focus is to ideate and implement solutions that drive the advancement of our products. I spend considerable time integrating various systems, such as Nexudus and Google Calendar, into our platforms, so everything works smoothly and saves time.

What aspects of your job do you find most rewarding?

The diversity of my role as a full-stack developer is what I cherish the most. I get to work on all parts of a product, not just what users see, but also the complicated systems behind the scenes. This mix keeps my day interesting and never boring.

What do you consider the most challenging part of your job?

The most demanding part of my job is implementing features that need to communicate instantly across lots of different systems in a way that can handle lots of users. But here at Tapkey, we’ve got the tools and skills to tackle it head-on.

Throughout your career so far, what’s the most valuable lesson you’ve learned?

As experienced here at Tapkey, I’ve learned that embracing versatility and being adaptable is super helpful. Being part of a product from start to finish might seem overwhelming at first, but it means we can make changes whenever we need to – whether they’re small tweaks or big changes to how everything works.

How does Tapkey stand out from other employers?

Tapkey’s flat hierarchy is a game-changer. It fosters an environment where everyone’s ideas are valued and can be used right away to make our products better. We skip all the long approval processes you see in other places, which keeps things moving fast and lets us focus on what really counts: making awesome stuff.

Away from work, what do you enjoy doing?

My downtime is often spent playing board games. I’m into all kinds – from light-hearted social party games to deep strategy ones. It’s a great way to take a break from the digital world and hang out with friends, or even make some new ones.

Share a fun fact about yourself that people might not know.

Surprisingly, I’ve never lost a fight against a grizzly bear!

Do you have a personal mantra or motto?

Absolutely, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” It’s a reminder to make the best of every situation, regardless of the circumstances we can’t control.

If you could meet anyone in the world, who would it be and why?

Easy answer: It would definitely be Alan Turing. He is a huge deal in theoretical computer science. Getting the chance to bombard him with questions about his groundbreaking work would be incredible.

How would you describe yourself in three words?

Persistent, open-minded, and positive.

What’s one thing you can’t live without?

Friends are essential to me – and I’m referring to the people I treasure, not the TV series!

If you could choose any superpower, what would it be?

If I had to choose a superpower, I’d go with the ability to slow down time. Not only could I use it to prevent disasters, but it would also give me the chance to really make the most out of every single day, stretching those 24 hours to their fullest potential.

Finally, what’s your favourite book or podcast?

“Solaris” by Stanisław Lem. It’s a science fiction masterpiece that pushes the boundaries of imagination to the extreme.
