The Coworking Europe Conference held in Porto was an immersive experience that allowed us to delve deep into the evolving dynamics of the coworking industry. At this event, we joined forces with our partner DOM to dive deep into the buzzing world of coworking—gaining invaluable insights and fostering fruitful discussions. Here’s an overview of the significant trends and technology insights that emerged during our time at the conference.

Balancing Technology & Human Interaction

A lot of discussions emphasized the critical balance between leveraging technology and maintaining human connections within coworking spaces. Simply having cutting-edge technology isn’t enough; it must align with the real needs of the coworking community to be truly effective.

Smart Access: the Game Changer

Access control systems stand as vital enablers within the coworking sphere. With more folks loving the flexibility of day passes, having a hassle-free access system is becoming the standard. These systems not only ensure secure and controlled access but also contribute significantly to operational efficiency and member convenience. Hence, smart access can be seen as a keystone in managing coworking spaces

Seamless Integration

The critical factor, however, lies in seamless integration. Coworking operators are on the lookout for tech that blends seamlessly into what they already have. They prioritize systems that function harmoniously, eliminating any operational headaches. We had the opportunity to talk to several coworking management software companies, including Yardi, Zapfloor and officeRnD and get to know their target group better.

Moreover, the integration of access control systems offers a profound advantage by enhancing overall security measures while simplifying access for members and guests. This not only ensures a seamless experience but also reinforces the sense of trust and reliability within the coworking community.

Customer First, Always.

But hey, let’s not forget the heart of it all – the people. These systems empower operators to maintain a customer-centric approach. By providing secure and efficient access, coworking spaces can prioritize delivering personalized and hospitable experiences to their members. It’s crucial to recognize that while technology enriches human interactions within coworking spaces, it is complementary to, rather than a replacement for, genuine human connections. Therefore, serving the customers with utmost hospitality remains a cornerstone.

Our experience at the Coworking Europe Conference was not just insightful, but also instrumental in shaping our strategies moving forward. It’s got us buzzing with ideas on how to amp up the coworking game with innovative, community-focused tech. Think Google Calendar or Nexudus Add-On. Stay tuned – we’re just getting started!
