From strategy to implementation, whether it is a newsletter, blog article, or social media post—our Andrea is a true marketing all-rounder. In our Team Spotlight, she tells us about her job as a marketing manager and her most important career lesson. She also reveals a fun fact about herself that not everyone knows.
What does your job entail?
I am marketing manager—both the strategist and the implementing force in one. I think about what is on the marketing roadmap and then put it into action. This includes managing the website, writing blog posts, preparing and posting on our social media channels, coordinating promotional efforts, and more.
What do you like most about your job?
I like the fact that I can combine creativity with analytics. This allows me to see how, what I produce, is received by users. Whether it is a Facebook post, a newsletter, or a blog post—likes, click-through-rate, and page views are my three favourite metrics.
What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?
Speak up! What I mean by that? Be confident, use your voice and express your opinion, even if it is not the majority. This includes bringing in new ideas—even if it has never been done before.
What separates Tapkey from other employers?
The cooperation. It’s not embarrassing to not know something and/or to ask someone for advice. On the other hand, you are also appreciated for your own work and new ideas are valued—which is often not the case at large corporations.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
Before my maternity leave: kickboxing. I definitely want to tackle that again. Other than that, I love spending time with my family and friends and being in nature. I also love to travel, with all the planning and organizing that goes with it.
What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
I am addicted to salt. At restaurants, I put salt in my food, before I have even tried it. But I am on a good road to recovery 😉
Do you have a motto or personal mantra?
“Do as you would be done by.”
There’s not much to explain. Karma strikes back.
Three words to best describe you.
Communicative, organizational and emotional.
What is the one thing, you can’t live without?
My daughter’s laughter.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Beam. Short yoga session in Bali before work? After-work cocktails in Paris? In 1,2,3 …
