Today, we’re excited to chat with Martin, a passionate software developer at Tapkey. If you think software development is just for tech geeks, think again. Martin not only makes waves in the world of bits and bytes but also lifts some serious weights at the gym. Read on to discover how he balances his career with his love for powerlifting.

Hi Martin, tell us a bit about your job.

Hey! So, I work as a software developer at Tapkey. My job? Well, I look for digital problems, come up with solutions, and then implement them at the keyboard. It’s really fun to constantly find new ways to advance in the world of bits and bytes.

What do you like most about your job?

I’m genuinely excited about everything digital and love sharing that enthusiasm with others. It’s incredibly rewarding to come up with smart solutions and then see how they’re used in everyday life. Real-world feedback is what truly motivates me.

What is the best career lesson you have learned so far?

My motto is “One step at a time.” Instead of trying to tackle everything at once, I focus on solving the core problem first and then build from there. This approach helps me stay focused and get things done effectively.

What sets Tapkey apart from other employers?

Tapkey is truly different. We’re a product company that is constantly trying to improve the existing solution. This makes the job exciting and leaves a lot of room for creative ideas. I also think it’s really cool that we work as a team in a very relaxed and understanding way. It makes working together a lot more enjoyable.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?

When I’m not working, you’ll almost always find me at the gym. I love improving my powerlifting skills. My current personal records are: bench press 125 kg x 4, squats 200 kg x 6, and deadlifts 220 kg x 4.

What is a fun fact about you that many people might not know?

Well, I enjoy memorizing songs with challenging lyrics just to sing or rap them out loud. From time to time, I go through my list and revisit them so I don’t forget them.

Do you have a motto or life wisdom that you’d like to share?

Sure, I believe that you shouldn’t take yourself or life too seriously. We’re all just human, and with a relaxed attitude, a lot of things become easier.

If you could meet any person in the world, dead or alive, who would it be and why?

Arnold Schwarzenegger. I find him to be an incredibly fascinating personality.

Three words that best describe you.

Humorous, enthusiastic, and clumsy.

What is something you can’t live without?

My gym. The gym is a big part of who I am and what defines me. I don’t even want to think about how it was during the pandemic….

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

That’s a tough one. I initially considered time travel, but it could get dull knowing the outcome of every decision. Instead, I’d opt for magic powers like Harry Potter’s—then I’d always have a fantastic party trick up my sleeve.
