Recap of Security Essen 2024

Jochen at the Security Essen 2024

At Security Essen 2024, the premier trade fair for security technology, the spotlight is on the latest innovations in access control, video surveillance, and fire protection. With access control as our key focus, Tapkey was proud to participate in collaboration with DOM Security at their booth. This partnership allowed us to showcase our latest advancements, particularly the Tapkey Unit, which is revolutionising access management for multi-tenant buildings. Throughout the event, we were excited to highlight how our cutting-edge solutions, combined with DOM’s expertise, are shaping the future of security technology.

Tapkey Presents its Unit Feature

The highlight of our participation at Security Essen 2024 was the introduction of the Tapkey Unit, a feature of the Tapkey web portal designed to simplify property management through advanced access control. Tapkey Units enable property managers and landlords to oversee multiple properties and access points from a single, user-friendly platform. This solution provides an efficient way to manage keys and access rights, significantly enhancing security and convenience while reducing the administrative workload associated with traditional key management.

This feature is particularly valuable for property managers, landlords, and real estate professionals who need to efficiently handle access for tenants, service personnel, and maintenance staff. Jochen Schurich, our expert at the fair, presented the Tapkey Unit to customers. Find out more about the feature here.

“In commercial buildings with multiple offices or floors, Tapkey Units offer efficient access management by providing exclusive locks for each office while enabling shared access to common areas like meeting rooms and break spaces, ensuring both privacy and convenience.”, explains Jochen Schurich at the fair.

DOM Highlights: DOM RoQ, Tapkey and More

DOM Security, our parent company, showcased a diverse range of products, including the ENiQ series and all Tapkey-compatible hardware. Customers had the opportunity to experience the unlocking process firsthand and see the innovative solutions in action. A key highlight was the DOM RoQ Smart Lock, an advanced electronic locking system designed to enhance security and convenience for multi-tenant residential buildings.

Visitors were able to test the DOM RoQ Smart Lock directly, exploring its features such as remote access control via a smartphone app, keyless entry, and real-time monitoring of lock status. The event also provided customers with a chance to see how DOM and Tapkey’s integration offers a comprehensive mobile access solution. This demonstration underscored how the combination of DOM and Tapkey addresses modern security needs effectively.

Observing the Latest Developments

In addition to showcasing our own solutions, we took the opportunity to explore the latest developments from other exhibitors. One vendor presented innovative barrier systems for parking solutions, highlighting the growing trend toward smart infrastructure. A key focus was on biometric authentication solutions featuring facial recognition, which provide secure and seamless access control. Another highlight was an AI-powered facial recognition system, elevating access control to a new technological level.

Overall, the event demonstrated that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is gaining increasing significance across many areas of the security industry. Touchless biometrics, particularly through facial recognition and palm scanners, showcased how modern technologies are revolutionizing access to office buildings and other sensitive areas. Another key trend was retrofitting older buildings without the need for extensive wiring. Our mobile access solutions offer a cost-effective alternative, which is also appealing for new constructions. Additionally, the demand for efficient solutions for multi-tenant buildings and shared rooms was a central theme, with particular emphasis on multi-tenant management.

Stronger Together

In the rapidly evolving access control market, staying ahead of the competition is crucial. As a pioneering leader in mobile access solutions, Tapkey, in collaboration with DOM Security, is committed to continuous innovation. Our presence at Security Essen not only provided a platform to showcase our latest advancements but also offered us valuable insights into current industry trends. This strategic approach ensures that Tapkey remains at the cutting edge of mobile access technology while staying well-informed about the broader landscape.
