In addition to software development and a passion for UX, our software developer Eduard is also passionate about cycling, ice hockey and much more. In the team interview, he talks about his job at Tapkey, what he likes most about it and how Tapkey differs from other employers. The most important question about his superpower is not missing in this interview either.
What does your job as a software developer entail?
As a software engineer, my daily job is development of our products, particularly Tapkey web app and Tapkey Web API. Additionally, I have been assisting our customers with their integrations. I believe that ease of use is one of the most important aspect of a good product. That’s why I like to work on further simplifying our integration process.
What do you like most about your job?
Working with state-of-art technologies and that we keep our products up to date with the newest technology.
What is the toughest part of your job?
Focus on details and considering all possible side effects of the change – on the other hand, peer reviews help with that a lot.
What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?
UX first – amazing tool is useless, if people have troubles to use it.
What separates Tapkey from other companies?
Friendly atmosphere with flat hierarchy is a really nice change compared to previous corporate jobs. Every member of our team has an impact on the product and any good idea is welcome.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
To balance the sitting lifestyle of a developer, I really like to do any kind of sport – especially cycling, hiking and ice hockey. It’s nice to challenge myself physically after focusing with your mind the whole day.
What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
I’m a bit of a Karen. My wife told me so, and she is always right 😀
If you could meet anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
It would be cool to meet anyone from ancient history or Middle Ages and talk with them about their perspective of the future of the world.
